About The Hundred
The Hundred is a growing professional franchise cricket tournament that began in 2021. It comprises eight men and eight women teams from eight cities in England and Wales. The England and Wales Cricket Board developed this tournament based on the Indian Premier League.
The tournament is similar to T20 cricket but with an entirely new cricket format, as it’s a bit shorter and with a few different rules. The game has 100 balls per inning and lasts about two and a half hours. The tournament was quite exciting, as the ECB laid similar grounds for the men’s and women’s teams. Matches run concurrently on the same day, same venue, and teams share the same prize money.
The Hundred Teams
There are eight teams of men and women from eight cities in England and Wales. These are:

The teams that finish second and third compete in the ‘Eliminator,’ and the winner proceeds to play in the final. When teams tie in the knockout stages, they play a ‘super 5’, and the winner is the one who scores the most runs from a further five balls.
With this in mind, the tournament format for 2024 will have the semifinals, which is the second and third-place teams playing the eliminator on August 2024.
